PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY DO NOT CALL THE HOTLINE, DIAL 911 FIRST. THEN CALL THE HOTLINE TO RESOLVE ANY OTHER ISSUES.

The Drivers Hotline is available for all of our drivers to dial in direct for various issues that may arise.

  1. Regular working hours, 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday, this number will route directly to *Joe Dukin's, Mechanic Shop Manager, cell phone. He will manage all drivers' concerns during that time frame. If Joe is not available please leave him a message and he will return your call.

PLEASE NOTE: During working hours, please call *Erik van Leeuwen directly for Safety related issues.

  1. Off-hours 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM weekdays, and weekends:

    1. Option # 1

      • Safety Department (Erik van Leeuwen)

    2. Option # 2

      • Tire damage or a blowout (Bridgestone direct line)

      • Must identify yourself as an HW Farren Employee

    3. Option # 3

      • Any operational breakdown (FleetNet)

      • Must identify yourself as an HW Farren Employee by name

      • FleetNet/Farren Acct # is HWF0316 if needed

Please Note: A prompt must be selected within a few seconds or the system will hang up automatically.

  1. In conjunction with the HOTLINE, please send an email to the ALIAS - "EMERGENCY CONTACTS" to notify Managers and Dispatchers of issues that are affecting pickup and delivery schedule. Never contact the customer directly!

REMEMBER IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY YOU ARE TO DIAL 911 TO CALL THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES / EMERGENCY SERVICES PRIOR TO CALLING ANYONE ELSE.

VEHICULAR OR EQUIPMENT ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION, REPORTING, AND REPAIR GUIDELINES

Drivers (and anyone with a company vehicle)

Report it to Farren:

  • Promptly report incidents that occur to the Safety Officer, Erik van Leeuwen, or Safety Director, Glenn Wargo. After hours, USE HOTLINE 1-800-972-8872 Prompt 1 direct to Erik's phone (See Driver Hotline SOP)

  • As a second line of information, the VP of Operation, "Mac" Macaione, or Jim Gaven for Fastway drivers, is to be notified as well as the dispatch department

  • Safety dept. to direct employee to undergo drug testing prior to return to premises.

 

Exchange Information:

  • Supply info to other parties involved

  • May or may not report the accident to police (in case of vehicular accident)

  • Do not offer more information than is necessary.

 

Record it:

  • Take detailed pictures and close-ups

  • Fill out Accident Reporting Kit provided by Safety

  • Take any notes that may help during the disclosure process with Safety Dept.

 

***Upon return to Farren:

  • Meet with Safety and provide comprehensive statement and diagram if needed

  • Deliver all documents, police report, ticket if any, etc.

  • See the Mechanic Shop Manager, Joe Dukin, to start repair process.

 

Safety Department:

  • Fill out Chadler Accident Report and submit

  • Report occurrences to HR Manager, Denise Rugel, and supply all docs – both areas are to maintain records of incidents

  • Safety to contact the local PD for copy of report if needed

  • Safety and Mechanic Shop determine the next course of action based on assessments.

 

Breakdowns:

  • Call the Hotline

  • Major breakdown, call your Operations Manager

  • Minor breakdowns/Issues, email "DISPATCH" ALIAS (Dispatch@FarrenIntl.com)

 

***In the case of where an immediate return is not expected, the Safety Interview will either take place by telephone or Safety may request written report by driver sent in via email. Safety Department will direct all moves at that point.
